This is the second regular commercial route carried out by the C919 aircraft, following the normal commercial operation of the route from Shanghai Hongqiao to Chengdu Tianfu. On the afternoon of January 9, China Eastern Airlines C919 flight MU5137 took off from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and headed for Beijing Daxing International Airport.

The Beijing-Shanghai route is the busiest business route in my country. Currently, China Eastern Airlines operates 404 flights per week on the Beijing-Shanghai route, with an average of approximately 57 flights per day. After China Eastern Airlines' C919 large aircraft joins the operation of this route, it will bring passengers a new experience of domestic large aircraft. In particular, business people and international passengers will have more opportunities to experience C919, a new global aircraft model, up close.
So far, China Eastern Airlines has received four C919 aircraft. This year, China Eastern Airlines will also receive C919 aircraft from COMAC as planned.
On May 28, 2023, the world's first C919 large aircraft delivered by China Eastern Airlines successfully made its commercial maiden flight on the "Shanghai Hongqiao to and from Beijing Capital" route; starting from May 29, 2023, the C919 large aircraft began to fly on the "Shanghai Hongqiao to and from Chengdu Tianfu" regular route. As of December 31, 2023, China Eastern Airlines' C919 fleet has carried out a total of 655 commercial flights, carrying nearly 82,000 passengers.
