In August 2022, Sony announced that the "Gravity Vertigo" game will be adapted into a movie, which will be produced by Sony PlayStation Productions and the British film production company Scott Free Productions, and directed by Anna Mastro. At today's Sony CES2024 keynote speech, Sony showed clips from the "Gravity Vertigo" movie for the first time.
The clip shows a character jumping off a building, very similar to what's seen in the game. It also shows behind-the-scenes scenes of actors wearing motion capture suits being suspended from slings.
"Gravity Vertigo" was first released on PlayStation Vita in 2012 and became a popular niche masterpiece. Later, a PS4 version and a sequel "Gravity Vertigo 2" were released. Although it received good reviews, the sales of the series of games were not satisfactory, and the developer Sony Japan Studio was disbanded.
During Sony's press conference, they also briefly mentioned the upcoming "Legend of Zelda" movie, calling it "a thrilling journey of adventure and discovery," but did not reveal any more information about the film.
