Sony showed off its latest electric car prototype in collaboration with Honda at CES, and surprisingly, Sony used a PS5 controller to drive the car directly on stage. Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), established in 2021, plans to launch its first electric car, model "AFEELA", in 2025, which it said will be built around a "high-end entertainment experience."

Eventually, Sony Honda Mobility hopes to release fully autonomous vehicles. Perhaps more strikingly, however, in its latest CES demo on Monday was the demonstration of how to pilot AFEELA using the PS5 DualSense controller.

Izumi Kawanishi, president and chief operating officer of Sony Honda Mobility, clarified that the remote driving demonstration was "just a technology demonstration."

The AFEELA prototype shown at CES in 2024 will be added to the "GT Racing 7" update patch later this year, allowing players to be the first to experience this car in the game and experience its performance.
