The current PS5 controller's battery life is generally between 3 hours and 6 hours.

The listing also mentions that the product includes a DualSense charging base, which can be easily clicked in for charging. In addition, the upgraded version has a smaller packaging size than the existing version, which may be for Sony to make logistics easier to manage.
