In recent years, Netflix has often taken the route of adapting games into animations, rather than opting for live-action performances. The Castlevania adaptation was a huge success. Now they are trying to present the legendary heroine of the gaming industry in the same way, that is "Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft". In this animated series, the actress who voices Laura is Hayley Atwell.
Don’t know who Hayley Atwell is? Peggy Carter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Captain Carter, the “true heroine” of the second season of “What If...?”, have a very high appearance rate.
In a recent podcast interview, Atwell shared his thoughts on the Tomb Raider animated script:
"The script was really good and really interesting. I think playing Captain Carter, having a lot of practice and preparation in sustaining the character's animation and energy through just his voice, prepared me a little bit for, 'This is you, as a voice actor, in a small house, not seeing anything, and relying on your voice to tell the story and evoke people's imagination.' Yeah, one show laid the foundation for the other."
"Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft" will be released this year. The show is set after Square Enix's version of the trilogy.
