A PS5 and PS4 market comparison report exposed in the Insomniac leak showed that Sony's current generation console performs better than the previous generation console in many indicators in the market. At least according to the reporting date, that's 27 months after the console went on sale.
It was revealed in the leaked slide that the PS5’s attachment rate during the same period of its life is better than that of the PS4 (94% vs. 92%). The average game time of PS5 is also at least 6% higher, and the percentage of platform retention and game time per user is also higher than that of PS4 during the same period.
The PS5 also has a higher PSPlus attachment rate. However, it should be noted that PS5 players need PSPlus to perform some basic functions, such as backing up archives, because the console does not have the USB backup function of PS4.
In addition, analysis of the behavior of new PS5 players and new PS4 players shows that the PS5's play attachment rate and game duration are higher than those of the PS4.
