ASUS recently launched a new USB4 expansion card and provides 60W fast charging. It is reported that,ASUS's USB4 expansion card uses the ASM4242 master control of its subsidiary Xiangshuo, which is currently the most complete USB4 solution., this expansion card requires the use of PCIe4.0x4 interface and provides two USB4 interfaces. Both interfaces support USBPD fast charging with a maximum output of 60W.
Up to 5 USB4 devices can be linked in a daisy chain, and there are two DP-in interfaces next to it to receive the video output of the graphics card.
When using it, you need to connect two wires. One is connected to the USB2.0 expansion pin of the motherboard, and the other is connected to the USB4_Header or TB(USB4)_Header on the motherboard. In addition, you also need to plug in the 6-pin PCIe power supply line.
At present, most motherboards are not equipped with USB4 interfaces, so there is still a lot of market for this kind of card, suitable for those who want USB4 interfaces but do not want to update the platform.
ASUS has not yet announced the price of this USB4 expansion card, but it is expected to be available soon.
