Disney has launched HoloTile, a VR sliding floor that allows players to walk freely in the virtual world. It is reported that HoloTile was created by Disney engineer and inventor Lanny Smoot, and is officially called "the world's first multi-person, omni-directional, modular, and scalable virtual reality treadmill floor."

After users put on the VR headset, they can walk freely in the virtual environment by simply standing on the HoloTile. No matter how they walk, they will not exceed the actual space or collide with the real world.

In the video, Smoot is wearing an Oculus Quest Pro headset and walking on the HoloTile, and his virtual perspective is simultaneously projected on the background screen. Although Disney has not disclosed the principles behind this technology, its potential for future applications is endless.

In addition, HoloTile supports multiple people experiencing it at the same time and has a stylish appearance. As for what secrets are hidden inside the floor, it is currently unknown whether sensors and cameras are used for motion capture.
