Reliable leakers OnLeaks and MySmartPrice have obtained a batch of early images of the Pixel 9, which will be launched in the second half of this year. The set of renderings just shared appear to show Google's Pixel 9 Pro flagship model. The edges of the phone are completely flat, exuding an iPhone atmosphere.
This isn't the only big change to the phone's design, Google also appears to have redesigned the rear camera headlines. The rendering shows that the three cameras are set in a raised oval module, similar to the Pixel Fold, instead of stretching the camera bar to the entire width of the phone as before. According to MySmartPrice, the phone also appears to have a slightly smaller 6.5-inch display (smaller than the Pixel 8 Pro's 6.7-inch display).
Like the Pixel 8 Pro, the Pixel 9 Pro's power button and volume rocker appear to be on the right side of the device. However, Google seems to have changed the location of the SIM card, and it now appears to be on the bottom of the device along with the USB-C port.
There isn't any firm information on the device's technical specifications, such as whether it will have a temperature sensor, but we're still several months away from the new Pixel phones that Google typically releases each fall. In addition to hardware changes, the upcoming Pixel 9 may need to bring a more useful design in terms of AI, especially with the just-released Samsung Galaxy S24 equipped with artificial intelligence and the iPhone 16 released later this year.
