Abstract:
With two days to go until Apple’s first foldable screen phone, iPhone Duo, is officially released, queues have begun to form outside Apple retail stores in many places around the world. Although Apple has previously made it clear that inventory in offline stores will be very limited during the launch period, this has not weakened consumers' enthusiasm for purchasing. Many people have been waiting outside stores for several days in advance, hoping to be among the first users to get the new phones.

Reports indicate that queues are already appearing in Apple stores around the world. Among them, a large number of consumers gathered outside the Apple Galaxy Macau store in Macau, China. According to live video, there were about 48 hours before the official launch of the product, and the queue was already quite large, with hundreds of consumers waiting outside the store for the opportunity to purchase.
Early queues also appeared at the Apple flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York, USA. Some consumers arrived at the store about 30 hours before the sale, while Apple employees were setting up giant iPhone Duo display devices outside the store to prepare for the launch of the new product.
In addition to Apple stores, queuing photos and videos from different regions have also appeared on social media, showing that more and more consumers are joining the waiting queue. Since the first batch of spot supplies is quite limited, the number of people who can eventually successfully purchase the device is expected to be far less than the number of people queuing up, which means that many consumers waiting in advance may face disappointment.

Apple has always not disclosed specific production data before product launches, but the company has confirmed that on the day of release on October 23, Apple retail stores in various locations will only provide a limited number of iPhone Duo to on-site customers. It is widely believed in the industry that these stocks are likely to be sold out in a very short period of time with demand far exceeding supply.
At the same time, users who have completed reservations have also begun to receive delivery notifications. Some consumers said that their iPhone Duo has been officially shipped and is expected to be delivered on the launch day of October 23. For users who successfully grab the first batch of reservations, the next few hours will be the final stage of waiting for delivery.

iPhone Duo was officially unveiled at Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” conference on September 9 this year. This device is Apple's first foldable screen phone in history, with a starting price of $1,999. Although the price is much higher than the traditional iPhone product line, it was still sold out quickly within minutes after opening for pre-order, showing the strong market interest in Apple's foldable screen products.
Due to the unusually strong demand for the first batch and limited supply capacity, the estimated delivery time for new orders from Apple’s official website has been postponed to January 2027. For consumers who have not been able to grab the first batch of spot products, even if they order now, they may have to wait several months to receive this much-anticipated new product.
