Abstract:
As Apple’s first foldable phone iPhone Duo opens for pre-order, details of its official accessories are also gradually exposed. According to feedback from users who have come into contact with the product in retail stores, Apple’s $79 iPhone Duo official protective case is not fixed by buckles or magnetic attraction, but relies on adhesive to attach to the device body.

It is understood that this protective case adopts a two-piece structure with upper and lower parts separated, and has a preset adhesive strip on the inner edge. The instruction card included in the package instructs users to first remove the protective film from the adhesive strip, then install the two parts onto the iPhone Duo, and press them to fit firmly to the body.
In terms of material, the iPhone Duo protective case is made of polycarbonate material and is available in sand color and navy blue. The design mainly protects the camera area on the back of the fuselage and the peripheral frame of the outer display screen, while leaving an opening in the front for the external screen. However, when the device is unfolded, the internal flexible display is not covered by the protective case, so it cannot provide additional protection for the screen in the unfolded state.
Some users who were the first to experience the accessory said that this protective case has a good anti-slip feel, and the hinge structure of the stand accessory is also relatively solid, but its fixing method is similar to other folding screen mobile phone accessories, and it also requires the use of adhesive tape to achieve stable installation.

In addition to this $79 standard protective case, Apple also launched a $129 iPhone Duo Folio case with stand. Unlike standard cases, the Folio version uses a magnetic connection that means it can be fixed to the body without the use of adhesive. However, the product does not protect the sides of the device and blocks the outer display during use. Apple uses a magnetic structure design to allow users to easily fold the protective cover back when they need to use the external screen.
iPhone Duo officially opened for pre-order on October 16, local time. Although the first batch of new phones is not expected to be delivered to consumers until next Friday, related protective case products have already been put on sale in retail channels.
Due to strong market demand, the first batch of iPhone Duo stock has been sold out. The current shipping time of all capacity and color versions has been postponed to approximately January 25, 2027. At the same time, consumers can already purchase official accessories in advance, with the standard protective case priced at US$79 and the Folio protective case with stand priced at US$129.
