On October 16, Tesla Roadster 2’s flight demonstration sparked heated discussions. He Xiaopeng, chairman of Xiaopeng Group, posted on WeChat Moments: "Another very cool form of flying car. Whether it can land depends on flight safety, flight parameters (such as endurance) and other specific indicators. But no one can bypass flight certification (TC, etc.), and I really hope that this aspect can be accelerated."
Zhao Deli, the founder of Xiaopeng Huitian, said in the circle of friends: "I watched the video carefully, and it should be the same technology used by the jet pack that lit the Olympic flame in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. This hydrogen peroxide flight pack is essentially a single-component short-term rocket that relies on high-pressure nitrogen to press high-concentration hydrogen peroxide into it. The silver catalyst instantly decomposes into high-temperature steam and shoots into the air. It is a very classic single-person flight stunt solution in the last century. It lasts for about 20 seconds. This technology is used in the ejection take-off and ejection start of Tesla Roadster2. It is very creative and I admire their vector control technology."
According to Tesla’s official disclosure, the Roadster used SpaceX rocket technology to rush into the air along a curved ramp and complete a controlled landing; then it twisted in the air and jumped over five other Tesla vehicles. The entire set of actions was completed in one go, and the compressed air mist sprayed out at the scene was clearly captured by the camera.
The new car is divided into three versions: Performance version, Thrust version and Rocket version. The Rocket version has a single-seat layout and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 0.59 seconds at the fastest time; Musk said on the spot that the Roadster will be Tesla's "last model for human driving". The new car plans to start mass production in 2028. The domestic Performance version is already open for pre-order, with an intention deposit of 332,000 yuan.
