I bought Huawei watches online but received brand-name products. JD.com: Removed all illegal products from the shelves and dealt with the merchants

Abstract:

A consumer placed an order to purchase a Huawei watch on the JD.com platform. After fully expecting to receive the goods, he was disappointed when he opened the package. The product I got was not the Huawei watch I purchased, but a no-name brand watch with no reputation.

In order to buy a children's phone watch for her children, Ms. Wang placed an order at Shensan Digital Flagship Store on JD.com platform, spending more than 980 yuan.

She recalled that her search keyword was Huawei watches, and the product page also had Huawei-related words on it, so she thought she was buying Huawei brand products.

However, the equipment frequently crashed, so Ms. Wang applied for a replacement. But just a few months later, the watch’s battery bulge was exposed again as a safety hazard.

When communicating with the merchant after-sales service, Ms. Wang was still wondering why Huawei watches were having quality problems one after another. The merchant then told her that the product was not an original Huawei watch, but was only suitable for use with Huawei equipment.

After learning the truth, Ms. Wang believed that she had been misled, and immediately made multiple complaints to the JD.com platform to defend her rights. After several negotiations, the merchant finally handled a refund for her.

Further inspection of the products on sale in this store reveals that many of the products in the store have text tricks.

Counterfeit brand names such as "Mide" and "SUIPOR" can be seen everywhere. Similar text layout and spelling are used to create visual confusion, but the goods sold actually have nothing to do with the corresponding brands.

After the incident was exposed, the JD.com platform responded quickly and carried out verification work on the store involved. The platform will remove all problematic products from the store, and at the same time, in accordance with the relevant management regulations of the platform, initiate corresponding disposal procedures for the merchants involved, and hold the merchants responsible for violations.

The platform's timely disposal of illegal stores is a step to solve the problem, but if we want to reduce this type of consumption pit from the root cause, we need the joint efforts of multiple parties. In terms of platforms, in addition to post-incident penalties, they should also strengthen prior review, strengthen inspection and screening of product titles and brand fields, and identify and block such marginal products in advance.

For ordinary consumers, when placing orders online, they need to be more careful. Don’t just look at the product title, carefully check the full name of the brand and store qualifications, and verify the goods as soon as they receive the goods. If the goods are not on the plate, keep the order, physical photos and other vouchers, and promptly provide feedback to the platform to safeguard rights.
