At a panel discussion organized by DBS Bank on Monday, Chen Liwu said that the performance of Chinese AI models such as DeepSeek, Kimi and GLM is "already good enough."

"I am a strong supporter of open source, which is the best way to improve efficiency," Chen Liwu said. He added that the market will determine which models are best suited for different application scenarios.
He also said that quantum computing may become mainstream within the next three to five years, and software will play a role in improving the efficiency of use of some of the necessary infrastructure.
