a mysterious new AI model that topped the online usage rankings with its free and high performance is now confirmed to have been developed by China Wisdom Spectrum Company
. In response to an inquiry from Bloomberg on Wednesday, Zhipu confirmed that the speculated Ox Alpha model is a new version of its GLM series and said it would release its weight tonight.
Zhipu said that the code name of the model was inspired by a popular movie "Niu Lai" recently released in China.

The company plans to make its weights public, which will allow developers to build other products on top of the model.
