Repair website iFixit today shared a disassembly video of the new iPhone 15 Pro Max, giving us a closer look at the interior of this top-of-the-line device. While the internal design of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is similar to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the device features redesigned bezels that allow for easy removal of the back glass panel, reducing repair costs for broken glass for users without AppleCare+ coverage. Last year, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus adopted this change for the first time.

iFixit said the device's main lens and ultra-wide-angle lens look identical to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is consistent with information shared on social media last week. This shows that camera improvements beyond the 5x optical zoom are the result of A17Pro chip and software optimization.

iFixit said that the logic board of iPhone15ProMax is similar to iPhone15Pro. In addition to the A17 Pro chip, the teardown confirmed that the device is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X70 modem, which is said to enable faster 5G speeds.

Overall, iFixit gave the iPhone 15 Pro Max a low score of 4/10 for repairability, in part because Apple's parts matching requirements hurt independent repair shops.
