In order to comply with the provisions of the Digital Markets Act (Digital Markets Act), Apple will implement a number of reforms in the EU region in iOS 17.4, including alternative application markets.
On Mac, Setapp is a popular subscription-based service that gives users access to a curated collection of dozens of popular apps for just $9.99 a month. These include applications such as Ulysses, iStatMenus, SparkMail, Unite, Yoink and more. Starting with iOS 17.4 and above, Setapp will be available directly on iPhones in the EU.
MacPaw says the SetappMobile beta will offer a "carefully selected variety of apps":

MacPaw and Epic Games were among the first companies to announce plans to offer an alternative app marketplace on iPhones in the EU. Setapp users on Mac can already access the iOS app collection via a QR code system, and an alternative app market will provide a more streamlined experience.
