Standby display options
Apple has added a new Display section to the Standby section of the Settings app, which includes some new customization options. The display can be set to turn off automatically, turn off after 20 seconds, or never turn off.
The existing Night Mode feature, which adds a red tint and dims the screen, and the Motion Wake toggle have been moved to this section. The "Display" section also replaces the previous "Always on" toggle, which limited the display to smart off.
Ringtone and text tones
iOS 17.1beta1 removed more than 20 ringtones and text tones added in the iOS 17 release, but they have been reintroduced.
New ringtones include Arpeggio, Breaking, Canopy, Chalet, Chirp, Daybreak, Departure, Dollop, Journey, Kettle, Mercury, MilkyWay, Quad, Radial, Scavenger, Seedling, Shelter, Sprinkles, Steps, Storytime, Tease, Tilt, Unfold and Valley. Reflection remains the default ringtone option.
Many of the new ringtones are longer and sound more stylish than the old ringtones. Apple has moved all previous ringtones to the "Classics" section, so users who like tones like Illuminate, Night Owl, Constellation, and Twinkle can still use them.
There are also more than 10 new text ringtones for receiving text messages, voicemails, incoming reminders, reminder reminders, and more.
80% charging limit fixed
In iPhone 15 models, Apple added a toggle button that prevents the device from charging beyond 80% to extend healthy battery life. In previous betas, the iPhone would ignore this setting and charge past 80%, but after the second beta update, this no longer happens.
double click
Double-click functionality is enabled in the second watchOS 10.1 beta available to developers today, but its settings can be managed through the Apple Watch app.
