This evening, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a photo on Weibo and said: "Hello, Chengdu! iPhone15 ProMax took this beautiful photo of the historic Anshun Covered Bridge."In the photo, the Anshun Corridor Bridge is brightly lit in the far focus, and the ferry is moving forward in the river in the near focus. The entire night scene is very outstanding.

Information shows that the Anshun Covered Bridge is located next to Hejiang Pavilion at the intersection of Fuhe River and Nanhe River in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It spans the Nanhe River and has a long history. In Marco Polo's travel notes, Anshun Covered Bridge was one of the four bridges that impressed him most.

At the beginning of the 21st century, Anshun Bridge was restored to its original appearance after several constructions. It was not until 2000 that the Chengdu Funan River Project Headquarters redesigned and constructed it. After three years of careful carving, the brand-new Anshun Corridor Bridge was unveiled on August 3, 2003.

It is still unclear when the Anshun Covered Bridge was built. The most accurate record about it is that in the early years of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, the Anshun Bridge was called Hongqiao. During the Qianlong period, due to the dilapidation of the bridge body, the bridge body was in danger. An Hongde, the magistrate of Huayang County at that time, mobilized the people to rebuild the bridge and gave it a new name - Anshun Bridge, which was intended to be a good sign of safety and success.

Three hundred years after the storm, Anshun Bridge was destroyed by a rare flood. At the beginning of the 21st century, Anshun Bridge was restored to its original appearance after several constructions.

The bridge is 81 meters long and 6 meters wide, with a Ming and Qing style. The bridge deck passages and railings are made of bluestone. The bridge railings are carved with patterns representing traditional Chinese folk culture such as plum blossoms, orchids, bamboos, and chrysanthemums. The bridge piers are equipped with two water animals to hold the bridge. There is an antique archway on each side of the bridge. The bridge deck and archway have red walls and green tiles, cornices and curved corridors, which highly condense the essence of the Chinese national architectural style.

Today's Anshun Covered Bridge is no longer just a "natural moat" for people to cross the river. Smart Chengdu people have built high-end restaurants and leisure and entertainment venues inside the covered bridge. While bringing antique cultural connotations to Chinese and foreign tourists, it has also given it a new role and meaning. It is a landscape bridge that integrates history, culture, commerce, catering, and pedestrian functions.
