This morning, Ant Group Chairman and CEO Jing Xiandong announced through an all-member letter that Ant Group President Han Xinyi will officially take over as Ant Group CEO from March 1, 2025. He will be fully responsible for Ant Group’s various businesses and daily management, and report to Jing Xiandong and the board of directors. In the future, Jing Xiandong will focus on his work as chairman and fully support Han Xinyi and the management team.
Public information shows that Han Xinyi joined Ant Group in May 2014 and served successively as vice president of strategic investment, CFO, and executive director of the board of directors. In March 2024, he became president of Ant Group. Jing Xiandong spoke highly of Han Xinyi in the letter: In the ten years he has served Ant, he has made important contributions to the company's development with his keen and profound strategic insights and diligent and professional spirit. Since becoming the president of Ant Group in March this year, he has led the team to continue to promote Alipay and make a series of innovative changes with outstanding leadership. Not only that, his modest, upright, impartial and selfless qualities and open and inclusive approach have also been unanimously recognized by the team. Jing Xiandong said that he believed that in the position of CEO, Han Xinyi would be able to lead the team to continue to create more surprises.
It is Ant's consistent tradition to hand over the reins to young people at the right time and drive the company forward through orderly inheritance. In 2016, Ant Chairman and CEO Peng Lei handed over the CEO baton to Jing Xiandong. The appointment email at the time stated that "enduring talent confidence" made Ant "dare to give young people greater responsibilities, stages and challenges." Today, Jing Xiandong also expressed his confidence in Ant's talent system in his letter. He said that in various key positions of Ant, the younger generation is growing into the mainstay. This handover is based on "a solid talent foundation and strong confidence in the organizational inheritance."
"In 2016, I took over the CEO baton from Peng Lei (Lucy). Today, with the same belief and expectation, I hand over the CEO baton to Han Xinyi (Cyril) to pay tribute to Ant's 20th birthday with the inheritance of dreams and responsibilities! In the future, I will work with Cyril, the Ant management team, and all Ant classmates to move forward and jointly create a better future for Ant!" said Jing Xiandong.
That day coincides with the 20th anniversary of the founding of Alipay. Jing Xiandong said that looking back on the past, Ant is most fortunate to have persisted in its dream - with the help of technology, every small business and every ordinary person can have equal opportunities for development; the most proud thing is that because of Ant's participation and efforts, mobile payment has become everyone's daily life, allowing small businesses to enjoy the same financial services as large enterprises, making digital life within reach anytime and anywhere... Looking to the future, a new decade of Ant Technology is beginning, which is destined to be another exciting innovation and entrepreneurship journey.
