According to a report by Ukraine's "Court Reporter" news network on the 2nd, a local court in Ukraine recently issued a verdict that Chinese man Wang Jixian committed the crime of leaking military secrets for filming Ukrainian military facilities at home and disseminating them on the Internet. He was sentenced to five years in prison with a one-year suspended sentence.

The report quoted the ruling of the Binhai District Court of Odessa, Ukraine, on November 29, saying that in May this year, Wang Jixian filmed the Ukrainian army’s anti-aircraft weapons intercepting Russian air strikes on the balcony of his home, and then put the video on the Internet for dissemination, noting the time and place of the shooting and the damage effect of the weapon. In addition, Wang Jixian also shot similar videos again in July and August and spread them.

The court believed that the content photographed by Wang Jixian could be used by the Russian army to speculate on the deployment of the Ukrainian army, which violated the crime of "revealing military secrets" under the country's laws. However, considering that Wang Jixian proactively donated 150,000 hryvnia (approximately RMB 10,000) to the Ukrainian army and expressed his support for Ukraine's military operations before and after the trial, the court sentenced him to five years in prison and one year's probation. In addition, local law enforcement authorities confiscated the camera and memory card used by Wang Jixian to shoot the video involved in the case as tools for committing crimes.
