Recently, Windows Latest discovered that Microsoft added a statement at the bottom of the update log for the iOS version of OneDrive: "This description was generated by Copilot." However, Apple's App Store guidelines do not require developers to disclose how to write update instructions. This move by Microsoft is obviously deliberate, and it is also seen as a clever and low-risk strategy for Microsoft to promote Copilot.

Because the content of the update log itself is low-risk, users do not have high requirements for literary talent or technical details, and each application update will push this text to millions of users, with extremely high exposure.

Coupled with the Apple App Store update log, it is one of the few user-visible text areas that Apple does not censor or restrict content.

Therefore, Microsoft mentioned Copilot in the update log to achieve "soft implantation" of the brand name in front of a large number of users without forcing users to use it.

This sentence is not a template or automatic addition, as not all patches are annotated with "Copilot generated", and small bug-fix updates usually are not included, while more content-rich major updates are.
