Musk doesn’t appear ready to end his feud with Iger. Musk, the world's richest man, has removed the Disney+ app from some Tesla cars after a dispute with Disney+ boss Bob Iger, without giving owners a reason.
Over the weekend, several Tesla owners reported that the Disney+ app had disappeared from their vehicles' theater screens.
Electrek reports that a Tesla source told Disney+ last week that it would be removing native apps from its vehicles, but did not provide an explanation for the move. Days later, the electric car giant notified Disney+ that the app would be removed only for owners who had never used the app before.
The incident began in mid-November, when several companies, including Disney+, suspended advertising on X after an investigation revealed that some ads appeared next to pro-Nazi content. This all comes at a time when Musk is facing criticism for his aggressive response to a message that claimed the Jewish community was inciting hatred against white people.
Musk has since apologized for his post, calling it "perhaps one of the stupidest things I've ever done on the platform, if not the stupidest thing."
Musk, who once called a cave diver involved in the rescue of a Thai soccer team a "pedophile" for criticizing his rescue plan, responded to advertisers eager to leave X by telling them to "fuck off." In an interview at the New York Times Dealbook Summit. He directly named Iger and said, "Hey Bob, if you're in the audience, that's what I'm thinking." Musk also claimed that Disney+ is "infected with a mind virus."
Tesla owners who have never used Disney+ in their vehicles but do want to access the streaming platform can still do so through the Tesla Browser, which will also bring the app back to the theater screen section.
