According to leaked documents, the PC port of "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" is in development and will be completed by the end of this fiscal year. InstallBase forum user Aquamarine posted that a confidential document leaked online after the ransomware attack on Insomniac details the budget of the studio's released games and PC ports of future games.
The PC porting cost of "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" will reach $4.6 million, twice as much as the first work, and will be developed in fiscal year 2024, which means it will be released after March 2024. Considering that Insomniac will provide PC players with a complete experience, this ported version may be launched after all PS5 DLC is online.
While the upcoming PC port of "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" will be Insomniac's most expensive port, the PC port of "Marvel's Spider-Man 3" expected to launch in fiscal 2027 will surpass it at a cost of $7 million.
Considering that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was developed from scratch for PS5, it's no surprise that its PC port's budget doubled. What is very exciting is how this ported version will further improve the game's graphics.
