According to tipster @Techjunkie Aman, software engineer Moahmed Adel’s system firmware cracking progress for PS5 has been advanced to version 12.00.

It is said that the developer successfully ported the Poobs kernel vulnerability to the PS5 12.00 system and formed a complete exploitation chain with the Luac0re/Mast1c0re user layer vulnerability. What has been achieved so far: ELF loader runs successfully, Payload execution is confirmed, GPU patch is applied, and security protection is bypassed.

This means that a complete vulnerability exploitation chain has been opened: user layer → kernel layer → unsigned code execution. Not just "getting into the system" but taking real control.

The possible impacts of this include: homebrew software ecosystem, game backup, custom tools and MODs, and running Linux on PS5 (more complete than before).

However, it should be noted that this result is still in the internal stage and has not yet been released publicly. Previously, the cracking method allegedly required owning the disc or digital version of "Star Wars: Revenge of the Storm":

It is understood that PS5 began to gradually push version 26.02-13.00.00 on March 17, which enhanced PSSR technology for PS5 Pro, added new features to the basic version of PS5, and also included overall system performance and stability improvements.
