Although Nintendo's official sales forecast for Switch 2 this fiscal year is 16.5 million units, Bloomberg reported that Nintendo has revealed to its production and manufacturing partners that it hopes to produce a total of 20 million Switch 2 units during this fiscal year, which is significantly higher than the official guidance.

Switch 2 has sold nearly 20 million units in the last fiscal year (about 10 months after its release). For this fiscal year, Nintendo previously stated that due to the upcoming price increase of hardware, it expects sales to be 16.5 million units, a decrease from the first year.
However, Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that Nintendo is actively stocking up behind the scenes and seems quite confident that actual sales can exceed expectations.

Nintendo has historically tended to give relatively conservative hardware and software sales targets in its financial guidance in order to ultimately deliver results that "exceed expectations." When Bloomberg reached out to Nintendo for comment on its 20 million unit production plan, the company declined to issue a statement.
