The 2026 Farnborough International Air Show officially opened. COMAC participated in the exhibition with a complete matrix of civil aircraft products, and simultaneously disclosed the latest development status of the 290-seat long-range wide-body passenger aircraft C929. Officials made it clear that the design work of this aircraft model is progressing steadily. A full set of models of the C909 regional airliner, C919 single-aisle trunk airliner and C929 wide-body aircraft were on display, clearly demonstrating the stepped layout of domestic commercial aircraft.


The 90-seat C909 regional aircraft is suitable for complex operating scenarios such as plateaus, high temperatures, and short runways, and has been delivered to many domestic and overseas airlines for commercial operation.

The 190-seat C919 has completed large-scale delivery. China Eastern Airlines, Air China, and China Southern Airlines have all put into daily passenger transportation. The two aircraft models have built the capacity foundation of domestic civil aviation on short-distance and short- and medium-distance routes, and the C929 will fill the market gap of domestic dual-aisle long-distance passenger aircraft.

This 290-seat wide-body passenger aircraft was independently developed by China. It has previously completed the overall plan review and fully entered the detailed engineering design stage. Wind tunnel testing, fuselage segmental static testing, and core system matching research were carried out simultaneously.


The model is positioned for intercontinental trunk transportation, with a designed range of up to 12,000 kilometers. It can fly directly from domestic cities to Europe, the United States and Australia. It benchmarks against the mainstream long-range wide-body models of Boeing 787 and Airbus A350. The fuselage uses a large number of composite materials and titanium alloy lightweight structures to take into account fuel economy and fuselage structural strength.

Key breakthroughs have been made in the core supporting systems of the entire aircraft. The avionics processing system has finalized a supplier and adopted a new generation of modular open architecture to adapt to the complex flight data processing needs of wide-body aircraft.

The supporting self-developed CJ-2000 Yangtze River large-ducted engine has completed a total of 3,000 hours of high-altitude platform full-state testing, with a peak thrust of 35.2 tons. Its performance is comparable to the mainstream aviation engines of the same level in the world, completely opening up the key link of the power independence of the entire machine.
