On January 8, local time, Alaska Airlines stated in a statement that due to the grounding of Boeing 737 MAX9 aircraft, approximately 140 of the company's flights were canceled that day. As of now, the flight accident that occurred on the 5th on a plane of the same model of the company is still under investigation. Indonesia and other countries announced on the 8th that they would temporarily ground Boeing's accident model.

On the 8th, the Indonesian Ministry of Transport issued a statement stating that due to the impact of the Alaska Airlines flight accident in the United States, Indonesia has temporarily grounded three Boeing 737 MAX9 passenger aircraft since January 6. According to local media reports on the 8th, Turkish Airlines decided to ground all five Boeing 737 MAX9 passenger aircraft it operates until the relevant technical investigation procedures are completed. In addition, airlines from many countries, including Mexico and Panama, have announced the temporary grounding of this type of aircraft.


On the 5th, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX9 passenger plane had an emergency door fall off shortly after takeoff and made an emergency return flight. Fortunately, no casualties were caused. The next day, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration ordered the temporary grounding of Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger aircraft operated by American Airlines or within the United States to conduct safety inspections of the aircraft.

In addition, investigators said that the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder of the accident passenger plane have been sent to relevant laboratories to read the data. However, the relevant data on the cockpit voice recorder has been overwritten by new data.
