According to news on September 21, NIO held the NIOIN 2023 NIO Innovation and Technology Day in Shanghai today. At the event, NIO founder, chairman and CEO Li Bin introduced the full-stack technology of smart electric vehicles deployed by NIO, as well as the latest progress and plans to enhance navigation assistance NOP+.
According to reports, the "NIO technology full stack" includes 12 key technology fields including chips and vehicle-mounted intelligent hardware, battery systems, electric drive systems, vehicle engineering, operating systems, mobile internet, intelligent driving, intelligent cockpits, smart energy, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and global digital operations.
Focusing on the "Full Stack of NIO Technology" layout, NIO has released a number of new technologies and products this time.
NIO's comprehensive vehicle operating system Tianshu SkyOS made its debut, covering multiple fields such as vehicle systems, assisted driving, smart cockpits and mobile Internet. It solves the integration problems of software, hardware and services, and also solves the security, real-time and application complexity issues in different domains. According to the plan, full-featured mass production of Tianshu SkyOS will be realized on NT3 platform models.
NIO's first self-developed chip product, the lidar main control chip "Yang Jian", was officially unveiled. It has the characteristics of high integration, low energy consumption, and strong performance, and can provide better support for complex scenarios.
NIOLink, the car-centered panoramic interconnection technology, was officially released. NIOLink achieves the integration of various devices including NIOPhone through the integration of software and hardware, device-cloud collaboration, full-link security and open mobile Internet technology system, and provides a better mobile Internet experience around users' car life.
In addition, NIO Smart Cockpit has released an application store, with more than 40 softwares launched in the first batch, 7 of which are industry premieres, including Xiaohongshu, Tencent Smart Parking, Himalayan Panoramic Audio Books, etc. These software will be available on the car one after another from September 22.
In terms of intelligent driving, NIO officially announced that the enhanced pilot assistance NOP+ will enter urban areas from high speeds, providing users with a point-to-point intelligent driving experience that can be used in all areas. NIO stated that it will start the delivery of enhanced navigation assistance NOP+ in urban areas based on its universal generalization capabilities and the emphasis on each user's path, taking the heat of users' navigation wish list as a reference, and following the method of route opening, route sharing, and converging into a network.
It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2023, NIO will open a total of 60,000 kilometers of urban pilot routes; in the first quarter of 2024, a total of 200,000 kilometers of urban pilot routes will be opened; in the second quarter of 2024, a total of 400,000 kilometers of urban pilot routes will be opened.
