Judging from the latest reports from foreign media, BOE, which has been supplying OLED displays to Apple since the iPhone 12 in 2020, is also seeking to supply iPhone 15, and the evaluation of supplying the standard version is in progress.
Sources revealed that BOE started the approval process to supply OLED displays to the iPhone 15 Plus in July, but in August, their displays were found to have deficiencies. They believed it was unlikely to be resolved in time, and they did not think they would be able to obtain permission to supply the iPhone 15 Plus.
Although it does not believe that it will be approved to supply iPhone 15 Plus, BOE is still committed to supplying OLED displays to the standard version of iPhone 15. The evaluation is also in progress and will be completed at the end of October.
Sources revealed that if approved by Apple, BOE can supply 5 million OLED displays to Apple within the year for use in the standard version of the iPhone 15.
