[Macron plans to convene a G7 meeting to study the release of strategic oil reserves] September 18th, French President Macron said that he will convene a meeting of the G7 in the next few weeks to discuss the possible release of strategic oil reserves. Macron said at a press conference in Paris on Friday, "I will convene a G7 meeting to promote greater coordination among countries on reserve levels and more cooperation in exports and production capacity." Macron said that this G7 meeting will be dedicated to "strengthening cooperation and avoiding unnecessary tensions between G7 countries and our major partners" and studying options for possible release of strategic reserves.
