[Federal Reserve Vice Chairman for Supervision Bowman: Final revisions to the stress test are expected to be considered in the coming weeks] September 18th, Wall Street lenders are one step closer to applying the more relaxed capital requirements related to the Federal Reserve’s stress test. As U.S. regulators continue to relax capital regulations, large banks are expected to make good profits again. Final revisions to the Fed's stress tests may respond to concerns about risk sensitivity and what risks the tests cover, Michelle Bowman, the Fed's vice chair for supervisory affairs, said in remarks prepared for an event in London on Friday. “These modifications will increase transparency and public accountability, enhance model reliability and accuracy, and reduce the volatility of capital requirements resulting from annual stress test results,” Bowman said. She also said the Fed is expected to consider final revisions to its stress test framework "in the coming weeks." The Fed's revisions are likely to incorporate much of the previous proposal, but Bowman said she would consider feedback from the banking industry on the stress-testing package before voting on the final rule.
