[Traders’ bullish sentiment towards the yen has increased slightly after the Bank of Japan was reported to be conducting an exchange rate bottom-out] On September 19th, after reports that the Bank of Japan was conducting an exchange rate bottom-out, traders’ bullish sentiment towards the yen was slightly enhanced in the coming week. However, compared with when Tokyo intervened in the currency market at the end of July and when U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent publicly pressured the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates in early September, the current expectations for the appreciation of the yen are much milder.
