[Scientists directly captured radio signals from exoplanets] On September 24th, deep in the universe, a weak radio wave passed through about 64 light-years of space and time. Scientists from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in the United States used the MeerKAT radio telescope in South Africa to observe the β Pictoris planetary system and captured radio signals from its giant planet β Pictoris b. This may be the first time that humans have clearly detected radio signals from an exoplanet, and will help test theoretical models of planetary interiors. (Science and Technology Daily)
