[HSBC will cancel the US$26,000 private club membership subsidy for Hong Kong bankers] On September 24th, HSBC was reported to have stopped a subsidy for bank employees to join Hong Kong membership clubs. The benefit, worth about $26,000, will be eliminated starting in January next year. HSBC’s move is aimed at aligning bankers’ benefits with those at its Hang Seng Bank unit, a person familiar with the matter said.
