When meeting with Guterres, Han Zheng said that the current international situation is intertwined with chaos and events, and the international system with the United Nations at its core is facing multiple challenges. This year marks the 55th anniversary of New China's restoration of its lawful seat in the United Nations. Over the past 55 years, China has always adhered to true multilateralism and supported the United Nations in playing a central role in international affairs. Maintaining multilateralism and reforming and improving the global governance system are the common calls of the current international community. Looking into the future, China will continue to play its role as a responsible major country, actively promote the alignment of its ideas and initiatives with the UN agenda, and provide new opportunities for world development with its new achievements in Chinese-style modernization. Guterres thanked China for its firm and strong support for the cause of the United Nations, saying that China plays a key role in advancing the important agenda of the United Nations and has made important contributions to global development.
