[Huadong Medicine: Phase III study of the innovative GLP-1 target oral small molecule agonist HDM1002 tablets for weight loss obtained positive top-line results] On September 27th, Huadong Medicine (000963.SZ) announced that recently, the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary The Chinese Phase III clinical study (HDM1002-301) of HDM1002 tablets, an oral small molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist independently developed by Sino-US Huadong for weight management in overweight or obese people, has achieved positive top-line results. The study showed that each dose group of HDM1002 tablets achieved all primary endpoints and key secondary endpoints at week 44; the weight loss effect continued with continued treatment, and further declined at week 52, with no weight loss plateau observed; at the same time, significant improvements in multiple cardiovascular and metabolic indicators, a significant reduction in liver fat content, and optimization of body composition were observed; safety and tolerability data were consistent with GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs, and no new safety signals were observed. The company has completed Pre-NDA communication and is about to officially submit a marketing application for HDM1002 tablets for weight management in China.
