[Reminder of important events in the capital market next week: China’s PMI data for September will be released. A-share markets will be closed from October 1 to October 7]
1. The National Bureau of Statistics announced the official manufacturing PMI for September on September 30, which was 49.8 in August. The non-manufacturing and comprehensive PMI were released on the same day. The National Bureau of Statistics announced on September 28 that the profits of industrial enterprises above designated size in August were up 11.2% year-on-year in July, and the cumulative profit from January to August was 17.6% year-on-year.
2. In the three trading days after the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (September 28th to 30th), A-shares ushered in a climax of unbanning. A total of 59 stocks were facing unbanning, with a total of 14.781 billion shares and a market value of over 100 billion yuan. The market values of the four stocks of Air China Cargo, Suneng, Xinke Mobile-U and Haitong Development all exceeded 10 billion yuan, which were approximately 22.107 billion yuan, 21.554 billion yuan, 17.258 billion yuan, and 12.530 billion yuan respectively.

4. The A-share market will be closed from October 1 to October 7, and will open on October 8; the Hong Kong stock market will be closed for one day on October 1, and normal trading will resume on October 2. The Hong Kong Stock Connect (southbound) and Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Connect (northbound) services will be closed from October 1 to October 7, and will be opened as usual from October 8.
5. The United States will release the September non-farm employment report on October 2. The survey expects new job creation to slow to 100,000 from 162,000 in August, and the unemployment rate is expected to be 4.2%.
6. The US PCE index will be announced on September 30. The market expects that the overall PCE growth rate in August is expected to remain at 3.7% year-on-year, and the core PCE growth rate is expected to remain at 3.3%.
7. The OpenAI annual developer conference was held in San Francisco on September 29. CEO Sam Alter delivered an opening keynote speech. The event will also cover APIs, development tools, technology demonstrations, and developer workshops.
8. The 14th flight test of "Starship" is scheduled to be launched next Monday (September 28). The spacecraft will also try to deploy 26 new-generation Starlink satellites (Starlink V3).
