[Focusing on the core task of seizing the commanding heights of science and technology, the "15th Five-Year Plan" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was released] September 28th, recently, the Chinese Academy of Sciences officially released the "15th Five-Year Plan" to make systematic arrangements for development goals, main tasks and major initiatives in the next five years. The "Plan" focuses on the core task of seizing the commanding heights of science and technology, clarifies the strategic focus of the scientific and technological development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, systematically deploys key scientific and technological research directions around the three major fields of basic research, strategic high technology and sustainable development, strives to strengthen artificial intelligence-empowered scientific research, and continues to strengthen the scientific and technological foundation. Capacity building, coordinating and optimizing the regional science and technology layout, and focusing on the goal of building a world-class scientific research institution, a series of major reform and development tasks have been proposed from the aspects of integrated development of educational science and technology talents, construction of national science and technology think tank, scientific research organization reform and management innovation, transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, etc.
