[The "15th Five-Year Plan" for the Development of New Battery Industry: Exploring the International Acceptance Plan for New Battery Digital Passports] On September 28, seven departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the National Energy Administration, and the National Railway Administration recently jointly issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the New Battery Industry." It pointed out that product traceability and carbon footprint management should be improved. Strengthen the construction of public service capabilities such as full life cycle traceability management of new batteries, strengthen overall coding management, establish a digital ID card management system for new energy vehicle power batteries and other products, realize information transparency and intelligent management of the entire industry chain, and explore international solutions for new battery digital passports. Coordinate and promote the construction of a carbon footprint accounting system for new battery products and actively carry out product carbon footprint management. Build a new battery life cycle assessment model, continue to improve the product carbon footprint factor database, and promote international mutual recognition and sharing of data.
