[FTAI acquires 27 Boeing 737-700 aircraft from WestJet Airlines] On September 28, FTAI Aviation announced the acquisition of 27 Boeing 737-700 aircraft from WestJet Airlines. Among them, FTAI's 2026 SPV will acquire 17 aircraft still leased to WestJet Airlines through sale and leaseback, and another 10 aircraft that have withdrawn from lease. Among them, 10 off-lease aircraft will be used in FTAI’s aerospace products business to increase the supply of CFM56-7B engines and modules to its maintenance, repair and exchange customers. WestJet said the transaction marked the official start of the retirement of its 737-700 fleet.
