September 29th, Bank of America analysts said that the Indonesian central bank is unwilling to raise interest rates to support the Indonesian rupiah. The Indonesian rupiah will face downward pressure from the narrowing of the interest rate differential between the United States and Indonesia; the Indonesian central bank’s policy focus has shifted to reducing foreign exchange hedging costs to attract foreign investment inflows.
