At the end of June 2026, China's external financial assets were US$12,180.4 billion, external liabilities were US$8,355.5 billion, and external net assets were US$3,824.9 billion. Among the external financial assets, direct investment assets were US$3,584.9 billion, securities investment assets were US$2,157.2 billion, financial derivative assets were US$51.5 billion, other investment assets were US$2,600.5 billion, and reserve assets were US$3,786.3 billion, accounting for 29%, 18%, and 0. 4%, 21% and 31%; among external liabilities, direct investment liabilities are US$4.170 billion, securities investment liabilities are US$2.6232 billion, financial derivative liabilities are US$21.8 billion, and other investment liabilities are US$1.5404 billion, accounting for 50%, 31%, 0.3% and 18% of external liabilities respectively.
