[Nhua Pharmaceutical: Signed an exclusive license agreement with Somnivera and is entitled to receive milestone payments of up to US$507 million] On September 29, Nhua Pharmaceutical (002262.SZ) announced that the company had signed an exclusive license agreement with Somnivera, granting it exclusive rights to develop, produce and commercialize an investigational drug worldwide except for mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The drug under development is a Class 1 innovative drug independently developed by the company with independent intellectual property rights, and is intended to be used to treat sleep disorders. Somnivera will make an upfront payment of $10.5 million, and the company is entitled to milestone payments of up to $507 million, as well as tiered royalties calculated as a single-digit to low-double-digit percentage of net sales. The company also acquired a 15% stake in Somnivera through its wholly-owned subsidiary Hong Kong Enhua.
