At the invitation of Kyrgyz President Zaparov, he attended the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and paid a state visit to Kyrgyzstan. When Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan arrived at Bishkek Manas International Airport, President Zhaparov and his wife warmly welcomed them. Zhaparov presented flowers to Peng Liyuan. Local young women presented traditional noodles and honey to President Xi Jinping and his wife, and welcomed the most distinguished guests with traditional etiquette. Soldiers of honor lined up on both sides of the red carpet to pay tribute. Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Kyrgyzstan have a long history of traditional friendship, and the majestic Tianshan Mountains have witnessed the history of friendly exchanges between the two peoples spanning thousands of years. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 34 years ago, China-Kyrgyzstan relations have withstood the test of international vicissitudes and have always developed healthily and steadily, reaching the high level of comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. In recent years, cooperation between the two countries has ushered in a "golden period" of rapid development. Bilateral trade volume and personnel exchanges between the two countries have reached new highs. Major projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway have been successfully implemented.
