[Petrobras signs a 22-year LNG purchase agreement with Cheniere of the United States, with an annual purchase volume of 800,000 tons] On September 29, Petrobras announced that it had signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchase agreement with Cheniere Marketing, a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy, a U.S. LNG exporter. Under the agreement, Petrobras will purchase 800,000 tons of LNG per year over the next 22 years. Petrobras said the move was aimed at reducing risks arising from price fluctuations in the spot market and increasing the flexibility of natural gas supply.
