[Many U.S. technology companies sign artificial intelligence safety self-discipline agreement] On September 30, heads of many U.S. technology companies signed a document called the "White House Super Intelligence Agreement: Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibility" at the White House on September 29, local time. The agreement requires companies to commit to strengthening security controls on cutting-edge artificial intelligence models. According to this agreement, all companies that train and deploy cutting-edge models are required to establish complete internal processes and control mechanisms to ensure that the technology operates according to preset goals. The agreement proposes that companies should implement a four-layer control and review mechanism, including establishing an internal control and monitoring mechanism to prevent models from invading or accessing technical systems in unexpected ways; setting up an internal team to ensure the operation of relevant mechanisms and rectifying existing problems; introducing independent external review or evaluation agencies to independently evaluate the operation of relevant mechanisms; and having an independent committee of the board of directors be responsible for supervision to ensure that all identified problems are rectified. Trump also signed an executive order that day requiring federal executive departments and agencies to replace the term "artificial intelligence" with "superintelligence" within the scope of the law.
