[Being an “initial teacher” for robots, the data annotation industry is accelerating its development] On August 31, the three-day 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo concluded in Guiyang, Guizhou. At the Digital Expo, the display of data annotation-related scenarios and service products has become a highlight this year. At the Digital Expo site, relevant companies showed how robots perform data collection and annotation work, attracting many audiences. As an important support for the development of artificial intelligence, the data annotation industry is accelerating its development. In Huishui, Guizhou, lightweight video shooting equipment records working movements in factories and other scenes, serving as "initial teachers" for robots; in Gui'an New District, staff operate dozens of robots, record video data in scenes such as logistics and transportation through multiple sensors, and annotate them. At present, Guizhou regards data collection and data annotation as a new driving force and key industry for the development of the digital economy. It has gathered 135 data collection and annotation companies with more than 16,000 employees. (CCTV Finance)
