[Poland once again extends border controls with Germany and Lithuania] On October 1, Poland’s Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kelvinski announced that the border control measures with Germany and Lithuania will be extended from October 2, 2026 to March 30, 2027. Poland stated that border control is an effective tool to restrict illegal immigration, and extending control will help continue to respond to immigration pressure and strengthen border security. The control was implemented on July 7, 2025 and has been extended many times since then. More than 4.5 million people and nearly 2.3 million vehicles have been inspected. (CCTV News)
