[UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Healey calls “fiscal discipline” his top priority] On August 28, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey said in an interview in west Wales that “fiscal discipline” is his top priority. Healey said: "For me, the first task, and it can be said to be the first responsibility of every finance minister, is to abide by fiscal discipline... This is the cornerstone of economic stability." He also reiterated that he will abide by fiscal rules.
